Shortly before his death, a murdered government agent points Tommy and Tuppence Beresford in the direction of the culprit. Led to the Sans Souci Hotel, the duo encounters a mysterious host, a group of unfriendly guests, and reports of a missing girl. But when Tommy also disappears, Tuppence suspects that something sinister is taking place within the hotel.
