This aerial photo shows Fisherman's Village resort and marina. Fisherman's Village (a.k.a. "Fishville") now occupies the site of Punta Gorda's city fish docks.

This undated photo shows the bead-board interior of the bell tower added to the Trabue community hall. The hall was one of the first structures erected in Trabue (now Punta Gorda). It was used for public meetings, school classes and nondenominational church services until 1889, when it was purchased by the Methodist congregation. The Methodists added the bell tower and a vestibule and conducted services there until a new red-brick church was built in 1914. This structure was relocated to 233 Harvey Street and converted to a residence. The photo was taken during renovation of the building to refurbish it as a bed and breakfast inn.

This photo shows noted naturalist J.C. Galloway and his wife, Hannah. The Galloways had a home in Port Allegany, Pennsylvania, and a winter retreat in Solana that became their year-round residence after Mr. Galloway's retirement in 1946. This undated photo shows the old bell tower and a new back porch during renovation of the Virginia House Bed and Breakfast. The structure was originally built as a community meeting hall for the town of Trabue (now Punta Gorda). It was purchased by the Methodist congregation in 1889, and the bell tower and vestibule were added. In 1914 the building was relocated from Marion Avenue to 233 Harvey Street and converted to a residence.

The A.C. Freeman House, built in 1903 at the corner of East Marion Avenue and Booth Street, was saved from demolition and relocated to Hargreaves Street in Punta Gorda in 1985. It was later donated to the City by the Charlotte County Foundation, and moved again to the corner of West Retta Esplanade and southbound U.S. Hwy 41, where it serves as a welcome center.

This photo is of Esther Oswald, who married Vernon J. Jordan in 1914. Dr. Jordan's death in 1957, Esther married Samuel McCullough. She was a school teacher for six years and a Sunday school teacher for fifty years. She was an executive secretary for the Chamber of Commerce and also the social service director for the Federal Emergency Relief Organization.
