This photo shows movie star Carole Landis (1919-1948) riding on the back of a convertible in a parade. The town is unidentified. Carole Landis (Frances Lillian Mary Ridste) was a popular actress who logged more than 100,000 miles touring with USO shows while entertaining American troops overseas. She appeared in 49 movies during her film career. Her death at age 29 from an overdose of Seconal was deemed a suicide.
