Imagen de portada para Lindsey Williams at Bone Mizell's Grave
Lindsey Williams at Bone Mizell's Grave
Imágenes Jpeg
Descripción
This photo shows local history buff Lindsey Williams at Bone Mizell's grave. A legend in south Florida, "Bone" Mizell is buried in the Fort Ogden Cemetery. His grave marker contains several errors; his first name was Morgan, not Napolean, as most people assumed, thus the initial "N" is wrong; his year of birth was 1863, not 1853; and although the family name was spelled with an "E" on the end, Bone spelled it without the final "E." The marker was first erected on the wrong grave; his family had it relocated to the proper site but did not have any of the errors corrected. It is unknown whether the errors were accidental, or on purpose as a payback; Bone Mizell was famous for his practical jokes.
