Log your reading
Kids and Teens (ages 5-18)
This year, there are four reading logs and four prizes to earn!
- Read for 20 minutes to complete each space.
- Keep reading until your log is complete.
- Turn in your completed reading log to receive your prize and pick up the next level log! Each log will challenge you to read a little bit more than the one before.
Missed the kickoff? You can pick up a reading log and get started any day this summer.

Little Kids (ages 0-4)
There's a special reading log for our littlest patrons. Add a sticker to your log for each book you read or listen to. Little kids have just one log for the summer.
When your log is complete, bring it to the library. You'll get to choose a book to keep! You'll also get a ticket to the Explosion of Color finale party on July 26.
Adults
This year, adults can join the fun! Read a book, then visit our library display to write a quick review. Each review is a chance to win a gift card!
Prizes & Party
When you complete a reading log, bring it to your local library branch to claim your prize.
The final day to turn in a log is July 19.
- Log 1 (200 minutes): Pick a free book. It's yours to keep, thanks to the generosity of Florida Virtual School!
- Log 2 (400 minutes): Tie-dye sketch pad OR pocket notebook
- Log 3 (600 minutes): Multicolor character pen OR rainbow writing pencil
- Log 4 (600 minutes): Color-changing cup AND a ticket to the Explosion of Color finale party on July 26

Reading with the Rays
You're already reading--why not double dip? Minutes you read for the library's summer program can also be counted on the Reading with the Rays log.
Pre-K through grade 12 students can pick up a game card at the library at the same time they begin our summer reading program.
Read your way around the bases. When you reach home plate, turn in your completed game card to collect some fun prizes! This year, the Rays' stadium is under construction, and baseball tickets cannot be offered.
