About the Library
The Port Charlotte Public Library opened in 1961. It quickly became an essential center of community life as it shared a building with the Cultural Center. Renovated in 2021, the light and airy space is an oasis of learning for its Parkside neighborhood, whose residents enjoy the library's over 33,000 items.
