Nelson Family

This photo is a copy of one taken of the Nelson family in 1955. It is thought that the man at far left is either Forrest or Aubrey Nelson; the man second from left is family patriarch John Henry Nelson, the woman third from left is John's wife, (Cordelia) Josephine Tiller Nelson. The younger women are unidentified but are thought to be daughters of John and Josephine. The Nelsons settled in Harborview (now Charlotte Harbor) in 1907; they had eight children.

Amos Shepherd and some of the Trailblazers are silhouetted while entertaining at the 1993 Cracker Days festival at Laishley Park in Punta Gorda. Amos Shepherd played stand-up bass, the Trailblazers were Buck Snyder on banjo; Sol Hingson on fiddle and Smokey Stover on guitar.
