This aerial photo shows the west side of the settlement of Charlotte Harbor looking west from U.S. Hwy 41 (Tamiami Trail); Live Oak Point (the bridge abutment) is at the bottom of the photo and the first street shown running parallel to the bayfront is Bayshore Road. Charlotte Harbor is one of the oldest settlements in Charlotte County; the area in the photo was originally platted as Hickory Bluff; the area to the east of Tamiami Trail was platted as Harbor View. Port Charlotte can be seen in the background.
