Kickoff Parties
The adventure begins Saturday, June 1 at our kickoff celebrations!
- 11 a.m. - Englewood Charlotte Library
- 11 a.m. - Punta Gorda Charlotte Library
- 2 p.m. - Port Charlotte Library
Sign up, pick up your reading log, and enjoy the entertainment and goodies!
Log your reading
Read along the path and choose adventures to complete along the way!
- Read for 20 minutes to fill in one bubble.
- When you reach a picture, find the matching adventure on the back. Choose one option and do it! Have your adult initial next to the one you did.
- Each time you complete an adventure, show your log to your librarian to collect a small prize.
- Keep reading until you've reached the finish!
- Turn your completed log for a chance to win the grand prize!
Missed the kickoff? You can pick up a reading log any day at the library.
Little Kids (0-4 years)
Add a sticker to your log for each book read.Goal: 50 books
Big Kids (5-11 years)
Mark off a bubble for each 15 minutes you read.Goal: 1800 minutes
Teens (12-18 years) and Adults
Read internationally!Goal: 8 books, one for each featured country
Party and prizes
When you reach your summer goal, you did it! Bring your completed reading log to your local library branch to claim your prize.
You can choose either a ticket to our kids' end-of-summer luau on July 29 or a ticket to enter to win a fabulous prize bundle.
Reading logs are due July 20. Party tickets go fast, so the sooner you turn your log in, the better.
Reading with the Rays
You're already reading--why not double dip? Minutes you read for the library's summer program can also be counted on the Reading with the Rays log.
Pre-K through grade 12 students can pick up a game card at the library at the same time they begin our summer reading program.
As you reach each base, bring your log to the library to get the next prize. When you reach home plate, turn in your completed game card for two tickets to a Tampa Bay Rays home game!
